Overview

Pharmacology is the subject of second MBBS. Pharmacology is the branch of medicine and biology concerned with the study of drug action. More specifically, it is the study of the interactions that occur between a living organism and chemicals that affect normal or abnormal biochemical function. MBBS student, at the end of one and a half years training in Pharmacology, is expected to understand pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles involved in the use of drugs, the importance of rational prescribing of drugs and the concept of essential drugs.

Facilities

The department is also looking after Pharmacovigilance cell and animal house of the institute. It is also having student’s laboratories to make them learn the concepts of pharmacology. Two demonstration rooms with audiovisual aids are available In the department.
